OVERSEAS trade specialist, Bradford-based Chamber International, has been praised for the “extremely high standard” of its export certification, following an official inspection.

British Chambers of Commerce has recommended that West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce should retain its status for issuing export certification through its overseas trade division, Chamber International.

The inspection was carried out by head of documentation at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Bernadette Speedy.

During the inspection, she met Chamber International director Tim Bailey and trade procedures manager Hayley Bates and appraised its thousands of certification applications from July and August 2017 as well as scrutinised its internal procedures.

Hayley Bates said: “Our trade procedures division issues more than 25,000 origin documents a year to exporters across the country. In doing so, they work closely with businesses to help them determine the origin of their goods and come across every kind of export from generator sets to sailing yachts.

“We are delighted that this hard work has been recognised as the inspector said that she wished that more chambers of commerce were like us. Our success means that exporters can rely on Chamber International specialists who are experts in applying country of origin rulings to products being exported. It also means that our origin certificates can be trusted and relied upon by overseas buyers and import authorities.”

Chamber International helps hundreds of new and experienced exporters with a wide range of specialist services to make exporting easier and more cost effective.

The Vicar Lane-based organisation is the UK’s sole supplier of hand-held, cloud-based business management tool Edge, which enables companies to access client records, control stock, issue quotations, create trade documents and raise invoices to fulfill export orders by using a smartphone or web-linked device.
