A VACANT Victorian office building in the centre of Bradford can be converted into apartments now new plans have been approved.
Bradford Council have granted permission for 12 Piccadilly, a three storey, Grade II listed building, to be divided up into a ground floor office and 13 one bed flats.
The plans had been submitted by Old P.O. Building Ltd.
Planning officers said it would help provide city centre living space, and lead to the refurbishment of a listed building.
Their report points out that other buildings on the road are also empty, and some “show signs of physical deterioration.”
Officers said: “The proposed change of use will contribute towards the objective of providing an additional 500 residential units in this area and provides for the retention of a business use at ground floor in accordance with the City Centre Area Action Plan.”
