A NEW court date has been set for a man accused of causing death by dangerous driving in Bradford city centre.

Liaquat Ali, 30, appeared before the Recorder of Bradford, Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC at Bradford Crown Court today for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

He has been accused of causing the death of Kathleen Farman, 54, who suffered fatal injuries after being hit by a car on Leeds Road, outside The Broadway shopping centre, on September 20.

Ali, of Thryberg Street, Bradford, appeared at yesterday’s brief hearing.

But the date was pushed back for a second time as prosecutor Michael Smith said he had not received a collision report into the incident or a related DVD.

Ali previously appeared before the court on November 16, where it was agreed the case could not move forward, and a plea could not be entered, until a collision report into the incident had been completed.

He will next appear at Bradford Crown Court on December 19.
