A MAN'S body has been found at a layby on the Aire Valley trunk road.

West Yorkshire Police said they were called to the layby on the A629 at Steeton at about 11.55am on Monday (November 13).

A police spokesman said: "The male, who is believed to be in his 60s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"Inquiries are continuing but his death is not believed to be suspicious."

The layby is on the A629 between the Kildwick and Steeton/Silsden roundabouts, in the direction of Keighley, about a quarter of a mile from the Steeton roundabout.

Three police vehicles with lights flashing remained at the scene of the incident this afternoon, and one lane of the road was cordoned off for the length of the layby, reducing the road to single-line traffic.

An articulated lorry lay within the cordon.
