BRAVE souls enjoyed a Halloween visit to Bradford City Hall, where they were given a talk about the building’s most famous spectre.
Bradford Civic Society had organised the lamplight tour of the Bradford Police Museum on Tuesday night, and all 30 slots were soon snapped up.
During the event people were shown the hall’s cells and the court room, where “Chains Charlie” was tried in the late 19th century. The murderer was executed for his crimes and hsi ghost is said to wander the buildings.
Former police officer Les Vasey, who has extensively researched the ghost, spoke to the group about Chains Charlie.
After the City Hall event the group moved onto the Old Crown on Ivegate, now run by arts group The Brick Box, where they were given a tour of the old pub’s cellars.
