SIX passengers were injured in a two-vehicle collision this evening.

Fire crews from Shipley and Bradford were called to the incident at the junction of Town Lane and Sherborne Road, Idle, at around 7pm.

The collision was between a Landrover Discovery and a Citroen C4.

A woman, the only occupant of the Citroen, was taken to hospital for a check-up.

A family of five in the Discovery received roadside treatment for shock and minor injuries. Paramedics who attended were assisted in giving first aid to the casualties by firefighters.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "The police were already in attendance when we got there. There were no persons trapped but we assisted with first aid.

"No one appeared to be badly injured but a woman was taken to hospital for further checks.

"All occupants of both vehicles, which included three male children, were wearing seat belts and all the air bags had deployed.

"The road was closed for around 30 minutes and then opened to one lane to allow for vehicle recovery.

"The incident was left in the hands of the police to investigate after around 40 minutes.
