A MAN who died after being struck by a train near Bradford Interchange was a 23-year-old from Keighley, British Transport police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the incident on the main line near the Mill Lane signal box just after 9am yesterday, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for British Transport Police, who have been leading the investigation into the incident, said: "British Transport Police officers attended the line close to Bradford’s Mill Lane Junction signal box on Sunday, October 8, after a report that a person had been struck by a train.

“The incident was reported to police at 9.04am, and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

“Paramedics from West Yorkshire Ambulance Service also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The coroner has now been informed."

The identity of the man is yet to be confirmed.

Mill Lane Junction is located just outside the Interchange where the line to Leeds diverges from the line to Halifax.
