LATEST: Man, 47, appears in court accused of murdering his stepfather
A MAN has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Silsden on Friday.
Alistair Throup, of Oakland Street, in Silsden, has been charged with the murder of 73-year-old Philip Slater.
The 47-year-old remains in custody and will appear at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 11.
Police were called to an address in Oakland Street on Friday morning Mr Slater was found with fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ward councillors for Silsden described the incident as "a tragedy", "shocking" and "distressing".
