FANS dug deep to raise more than £1,500 for the Lord Mayor of Bradford’s appeal at a music festival held in the district.
A team of volunteers from the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor’s Abid Hussain, helped collect a total of £1,577.45 for this year’s appeal from the three-day Bingley Music Live.
A post on the Lord Mayor’s Facebook page said this year’s total had beaten the 2016 appeal collection from Bingley Music Live.
The money raised will be divided between the Lord Mayor’s two charities; Bingley-based Down Syndrome Training and Support Service and Wishing Well, which gives grants to smaller groups in the district.
The event, held in Myrtle Park last weekend, saw headliners, Menston’s Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers and The Wombats take to the stage in front of thousands of fans.
