A 46-YEAR-OLD man was taken to hospital with a head injury after he was hit by a car in Bradford.
Emergency services were called to Westgate at around 1.50pm today after the man was crossing the road and collided with a black Mini Cooper.
The man was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary. The cordon was removed from the scene at 3.10pm.
Corporal James Parker witnessed the collision when he was outside the Army Careers Centre, also in Westgate.
He said: “I just did what we are trained to do.
“I started to give him first aid treatment and my colleagues started to control traffic.
“I looked after the man until the emergency services arrived.”
Routes around the scene, including the junction of Westgate and Hamm Strasse, were blocked with police officers directing the traffic.
