A MAN was trapped inside his car after a crash in Cleckheaton this afternoon.
At 5.59pm emergency services were called to the crash near the junction of Gomersal Lane and Spen Lane.
Called to the scene were police, fire crews from Cleckheaton and Dewsbury, two rapid response ambulance vehicles, a doctor, an ambulance, a hazardous area response team and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The crash is thought to have involved a red Ford hitting a wall, and fire crews found a man trapped in the vehicle at the scene.
The road was temporarily closed while the crews helped free the man from the vehicle.
He was then taken overground by ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary, where. A spokesman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said the injuries were "possibly serious."
