EMERGENCY services have been searching a river after concerns that a man might have got into difficulties swimming overnight.
Police were called to Robert's Park in Saltaire at 10pm yesterday after reports a man had been swimming in the River Aire. When they arrived they were not able to find the swimmer.
Fire crews from Shipley and Bingley stations were also called to help in the search, and were at the scene for several hours overnight.
Police told the Telegraph & Argus the investigation was continuing this morning.
A spokesman said: "Police have been conducting searches near to Victoria Road, Saltaire following reports of a man who was seen swimming in the river at around 10pm last night.
"Officers are continuing enquiries and a search is ongoing."
