A MAN who is alleged to have sexually assaulted a 15-year-old schoolgirl with another man in a car told a jury he moved away from her when she began touching him indecently and tried to kiss him.

Jubayel Ali, 26, said he had a girlfriend and was annoyed at what happened and went to sit in the front of the car. Ali denied sexually touching the girl.

Ali, of Catherine Street, Keighley, pleads not guilty to sexual assault and false imprisonment. Co-accused Sajaad Khan, also 26, of Nashville Terrace, Fell Lane, Keighley, denies three charges of sexual assault and one of false imprisonment. Bradford Crown Court has been told the men sexually assaulted the girl in the back of Khan’s car.

They picked up the girl from a street in the Keighley area after her boyfriend failed to meet her.

Khan also claimed in evidence that the girl tried to kiss him. But the girl told the jury she had not tried to kiss either of the men.

Questioned by Khan’s barrister, Kitty Colley, Ali denied trying to make it look worse for his co-accused by claiming Khan had asked the girl about sex. The jury is expected to retire to consider its verdicts today.
