Three motorists have been caught driving vehicles with MOTs that had expired.
This evening, officers stopped a car on the westbound M62 at junction 26 Chain Bar.
Checks revealed that the vehicle's MOT had expired on August 14 last year. The driver was given a £100 fine.
A short time later, another car was pulled over, this time near junction 28, and its driver was fined £100 for an MOT offence.
Tonight's incidents came two days after police issued a warning after pulling over a car on the westbound M62 on Ainley Bank. The MOT on that vehicle had expired on July 26 last year. At the time, a spokesman for the county's roads policing unit said: "The last MOT being July 2015, that's a long time without any safety checks."
