THE Telegraph & Argus is among the businesses that have bought and donated season tickets for Bradford City’s #TeamTwenty campaign.

The Bantams’ push to sell 20,000 season tickets has passed 17,500 – and local companies are joining in to push it on even further ahead of a price increase on Monday.

James Mason, City’s chief operating officer, said: “As we break through the 17,500 mark we are now turning our attention to corporate business tickets as companies look to buy season tickets to use as incentives or rewards for staff and customers. Most of our current sponsors understand that a strong and packed-out stadium can only help the city.

“With the news that the T&A has signed up, it’s a great start.”

Robert Drummond, T&A newspaper sales manager, said: “As one of Bradford City’s biggest fans, the T&A wanted to support the club’s efforts in making live football accessible to as many people as possible – whatever their background or financial circumstances.

“The club’s affordability policy is already reaping huge rewards with big attendances and a great match-day atmosphere which ultimately is translating into success on the pitch – and we hope this latest initiative extends the fan base further by getting fans down to the ground who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to go.

“We very much hope that the tickets bought by the T&A will be donated to a truly deserving parent and child team who will be inspired by City’s success to achieve great things in their own lives.”

Others who have bought season tickets are insurance firm TL Dallas, Shipley Bantams Supporters and Travel Club, and security systems firm Keybury Fire and Security.

Mike Martin, group director at TL Dallas, said: “Bradford City are a club committed to the city and their work to attract families and encourage corporate and donated tickets adds to that.

“We already donate places in our box for local charities as an auction prize to help them raise funds but sometimes events have lower-value raffles so we intend to donate these season tickets as raffle prizes on a per game basis.

“This will allow us to widen that existing charitable work and when they are not being used we will give them out as a reward to staff and their families.”

Frank Gee, of Keybury, said: “I think the season ticket campaign is a brilliant way to get supporters to create the best atmosphere at games. My dad bought my City scarf at my first game in 1967 and if the donated tickets can help a father and his son or daughter attend games then maybe they will become lifelong City supporters like me.

“If it results in another 50-year-old scarf, it’ll be worth it.”

Steve Gorringe, of Shipley Bantams, said: “We hope the tickets can be used to give a family who can’t afford to go to a football game the chance to experience one at Valley Parade. Our club is a great family of football fans and growing bigger because of this campaign.”
