THE Top House in Odsal has been crowned the best rugby league pub in Britain following a public vote over the weekend.
Organised by Facebook page The Rugby League Fan Club, the contest saw around 4,100 people cast their vote for their favourite tavern.
The Top House was crowned the nation's favourite with around 1,600 votes.
It triumphed over The Boot Room in Castleford, which received around 1,300 votes, The Centurion in Leigh which picked up 832 votes, and The George in St Helens which got 313 votes.
The vote, which opened at 6pm on Friday, closed at 6pm yesterday, following the Bradford Bulls' emphatic 48-16 win over Sheffield Eagles, with Bulls supporters and landlady Elaine Crowther celebrating both victories in the pub.
To mark the achievement, the pub will receive a commemorative certificate.
