FIVE GCSE students have beaten off national competition to take part in prestigious summer schools hosted by Russell Group universities.
The contest was targeted at Year 11 students who could demonstrate high academic ability, a wide range of skills and a passion for studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths).
The pupils, at Titus Salt School in Baildon, that won are Elizabeth Ajala and Isabelle Wright, who will be attending the summer camp at the University of Edinburgh, and Esha Sagar, Isobel Lawrence and Cherri Chan, who will be joining the University of Southampton.
Head Ian Morrel, said: “Well done to each of these girls for competing at the highest level to win their place at the summer camp: they deserve this opportunity and we are proud of them. Our school is committed to STEM and we encourage all of our students to work hard and aim high."
