A DISTRICT councillor has resigned from Bradford Council.
Councillor Lisa Carmody (Con, Queensbury), who was first elected in 2015, said: “Whilst it has been a privilege to represent the people of Queensbury, on Bradford Council, I feel that I have no choice but to resign with immediate effect.
“During my time on the council I have experienced health problems and more recently a change in family circumstances means that I will be moving out of the Queensbury area.
“It is therefore not possible for me to continue to represent Queensbury residents and I am resigning to allow local people to choose a replacement.
My Conservative Group colleagues have selected Andrew Senior, a local man to stand for election and I have no doubt that if elected Andrew would work hard for the interests of Queensbury.”
No date for a by-election has yet been set.
