MORE help is to be offered to families with children who are struggling to pay their rent.
Bradford Council’s Executive yesterday heard that around 2,500 children in the district are living in families affected by the Government’s new, stricter benefits cap.
The committee yesterday decided to use more of a limited hardship pot to help these families with children.
The discretionary housing payments are funded by the Government and administered by the Council. The pot is expected to rise to around £1.4m in Bradford in the coming financial year.
