PLANS to demolish a fish and chip shop in Bingley and build houses in its place have been approved by Bradford Council.
Martin Brown submitted the scheme that would see Rob’s Plaice (pictured), in Crownest Road near the junction with Ferncliffe Road, replaced with two houses with garages.
Last year a similar application was refused because of its impact on neighbouring houses. However, this newest application was amended so the new houses would be further away from existing properties.
Earlier plans for homes on this site were approved in 2005, but never built, and that permission has since expired.
Planning officers said: “The development of the site for residential purposes would count towards the delivery of necessary new housing stocks.”
