The owners of the Lindisfarne Care Home in Haworth have revealed plans to develop the former Haworth Cinema on Belle Isle Road.
Jayne and Toni Ricci want to convert the old cinema into "extra care accommodation" consisting of ten apartments and a day centre.
The concept of extra care, which is supported by the Government, is fairly new to the UK and allows people in their later years to enjoy independent living in fully serviced accommodation as a real alternative to being placed in a care home.
Mrs Ricci said: "The Old Cinema and Bygone Days Museum, adjacent to our existing care home, provides us with the perfect opportunity for us build a small elderly community right next door to our existing care home."
