A PLAY last performed at the University of Bradford more than 40 years ago will make up part of an evening of artistic events held at various venues tonight.

As part of an exhibition looking back at 50 years of life at the university, called Subveillance, curator Helen Kaplinsky has invited theatre maker Javaad Alipoor to devise a series of workshops around David Edgar's 1972 play 'The End.'

Written in 1972 for Bradford University Theatre Group, the play looked at themes of nuclear war.

Tonight participants in the recent workshops will share their reflections on revisiting the unpublished work for the first time in four decades. Mr Edgar will attend to contribute to discussion. There will also be music by Bridget Hayden and Claire Potter at the ticketed event, held at Fuse Art Space on Rawson Square.

It is part of a trail of events that will bring an art, music and technology party to Brick Box’s ‘Wild Woods’ in the former Marks and Spencers store on Darley Street.

Titled UnCommons, the event is a partnership between Recon, Bradford Threadfest, M@BU - Music at Bradford University, which hosts art, music and technology events in Unusual Spaces.

Taking place between 6pm and 12am the free-to-enter event allows people to drop in to experience the installations, hang out and socialise as well as enjoy the planned activities and performances.

The evening will also include a silent disco from Simpatico DJs, drinks by The Sparrow and Indian street food.
