Organisers of a motorsport-themed charity dinner are rallying support for the Lord Mayor's appeal.

Tickets are on sale now for the event at Bradford's Hilton Hotel on Saturday, July 21, and people going along will have the chance to put in bids for motoring memorabilia and win a ride in a rally car.

The dinner coincides with Bradford's Classic Car Weekend when vintage vehicles will be parking up in Centenary Square and rally roadsters will be roaring round Odsal Stadium.

Cash from the charity dinner will not only support this year's Lord Mayor's appeal which is backing Bradford Cancer Support Centre's Daisy Appeal and The Ear Trust but also go towards the Richard Burns Foundation and Michael Parks Fund, linked to the Slowly Sideways organisation responsible for staging the Odsal rally spectacular.

Phil Short, a winner of 17 international rallies as a co-driver, is going to be guest speaker at the Hilton dinner.

A champagne reception will start the night off before steering towards a three-course meal and entertainment from dancers, a DJ and live band.

Dinner tickets cost £45 and businesses buying a table of ten will get a certificate of thanks from the Lord Mayor.

To make a booking either call the Hilton on (01274) 734734 or contact the Lord Mayor's Appeal Office on (01274) 434965.
