THE second "Wild Woods" event, planned for Darley Street this Friday, will see people moonwalking, breakdancing and enjoying silent movies while sampling moon cheese.

Run by arts group The Brick Box, the event sees the former Marks & Spencer building transformed into a wood with art installations, live music performances and a pop up bar.

The first event, held in the building and on Darley Street two weeks ago, attracted 800 people to the inside of the building, with official figures showing almost 7,300 people passing through Darley Street between 5pm and 11pm, up from 2,891 the previous week.

Tomorrow's event will have a lunar theme, with highlights including art rock three-piece STEMS providing a live soundtrack to a trio of early movie magic by Georges Méliès. The films include A Trip to the Moon (1902), The Kingdom of the Fairies (1903) and The Eclipse: Courtship of the Sun and Moon (1907).

The film screenings are part of Live Cinema UK's Bradford Community Screenings Programme, which are being supported by Film Hub North.

There will also be a mass moonwalk on Darley Street, outdoor picnic provided by The Peacock on North Parade, the chance to sample moon cheese, breakdancing, art sessions, DJ performances and a bar by The Sparrow.

The free event runs from 6pm until 10pm.

Events are also planned for November 4 and 11.
