EIGHT young and budding actors, including three from Cullingworth, Horsforth and Embsay, have been successful at Alhambra Theatre auditions to pick players for the roles of John and Michael Darling in this year’s pantomime Peter Pan.

Scores of boys attended for today's auditions with two teams of four eventually picked.

The boys, who will play the brothers of Peter Pan’s friend, Wendy, were supported by actor Darren Day, who is starring in the panto in the role of Captain Hook.

He is appearing alongside comedian Billy Pearce, who will play Smee, Emmerdale actress Charlie Hardwick who is playing the magical mermaid, and former S Club 7 star Jon Lee, who is playing Peter Pan as he flies through his adventures in Neverland.

Auditions were pre-registered through the box office with staff staff saying they had expected a busy but fun morning.

“That’s what panto is all about,” they said.

The show, put on by Qdos Productions, will run from December 17 to January 29.
