THREE teenagers are being hunted by police after an arson attack on a house in Bradford.

They are suspected of starting a fire at a terraced property on Bolingbroke Street, Marshfields, at about 7.45pm yesterday.

Firefighters broke a door down to get to the kitchen of the house and tackle the blaze. No-one was in the property at the time.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "There are three suspects, all males in their teens. One was thought to be wearing a black hooded top.

Watch commander Mick Kilburn said last night: "We treated the callout as persons inside.

"We broke the door down to get to the kitchen which was well alight and then used four breathing apparatus to search the property for occupants. Fortunately it was empty.

"The call was made to us from a neighbour who had seen the fire.

"We left the scene at around 9.30pm and put it into the hands of the police because we suspected arson."

Fire crews are back in the area this morning to knock on doors and fit smoke alarms for people who don't have a working one.

Mr Kilburn said the fire-affected house on Bolingbroke Street did not have a working smoke alarm.

Anyone with any information that could help police identify the three suspects should call 101 and quote crime reference number 13160409677.
