ONE of Bradford’s oldest residents has celebrated his 105th birthday with a surprise party in his honour .
Jack Pask, who lives at Laurel Bank Care Home in Wilsden, enjoyed the occasion with his family, friends, and staff.
Singer Steve Brown provided the entertainment and Mr Pask celebrated the day with a cake and a glass of his favourite tipple, brandy.
Dawn Delaurenti, who works at the care home, said Mr Pask’s eyes lit up when he saw everyone gathered to celebrate his birthday.
She said: “We had a great time, all the residents and staff and his family gathered for a surprise party.
“When he came in he was really shocked and so happy, it was a lovely day.
“He is a brilliant resident, he takes part in all the activities at the home, has a great sense of humour.”
Mr Pask, who was born in a village near Tadcaster in 1911, said he thoroughly enjoyed himself.
He said: “I knew nothing about it, I was in my room reading when an assistant came up and told me they needed me.
“When I got down everyone was there; it was a nice surprise and I had a good time.”
