The blaze on Ilkley Moor

A MOORLAND blaze near the Cow and Calf Rocks beauty spot, Ilkley, which began this afternoon has been contained by firefighters from eight engines.

By 4.45pm the fire had spread to a stretch of moorland 60 metres by 50 metres wide.

But a West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman has just confirmed that the burning area has been successfully "sectorised" into two areas which are under control.
