PUPILS at a Bradford school have helped mark its 25th anniversary by planting a time capsule to show future generations what their life is like in 2016.

Dixons City Academy has been celebrating the anniversary since the start of the academic year, and has held numerous events including a concert in St George's Hall for former and existing pupils.

Children at the school have now buried a time capsule on school grounds to be opened in the school's 50th anniversary year.

It included videos and photographs of current students, a student planner detailing their day to day activities and other artefacts that reflect modern school life.

A spokesman for the school said: "In celebration of Dixons City's 25 year anniversary, Year Ten students have buried a time-capsule which will be opened in 25 years’ time when Dixons celebrates its 50th anniversary.

"Each form group has chosen an item to go in to the capsule which they think best shows life as a Dixons student in 2016.

"The items include a student planner, photographs and videos of students and post cards explaining what life is like for teenagers today."
