Yorkshire in Photographs by Dave Zdanowicz is published by Amberley priced £15.99

IF there is such a place as heaven, Dave Zdanowicz has captured it with his camera.

It's the tranquil peace of a canalside walk in the Calder Valley, the snowy tops of Wharfedale in winter, and the stunning, sprawling seascapes of the east coast.

Bradford photographer Dave takes extraordinarily beautiful pictures of Yorkshire, from moorland and mills to seaside fishing villages and peaceful park lakes. Yorkshire in Photographs is a stunning collection of his images of the county's diverse landscapes.

What makes Dave's work even more remarkable is that he has been taking photographs for less than three years.

"Ever since I purchased my first camera in July, 2013 I've been hooked on photographing the amazing Yorkshire landscape," he says. "My love for landscape photography has helped me see what an amazing county I live in - I 'd never have known some of these places existed if not for exploring with my camera."

Last year Dave won BBC Countryfile’s Winter Landscape photography competition with an image of a sunset at Harold Park, Low Moor.

"It was printed in the Countryfile magazine and featured on the website. It brought a lot of exposure my way,” says Dave, whose interest in photography began when he discovered Instragram and became inspired by the work of other photographers. “My friend sold he his DSLR camera and that was that," says Dave.

The book contains more than 120 images taken by Dave over the last couple of years. "I have explored cities, coastal lines and the vast Yorkshire countryside. Each picture represents a moment captured from each seasonal scene," he says. "There has been something special about each part of Yorkshire. It's full of history and tradition."

Dave has amassed an impressive online fanbase, and was encouraged by some of the thousands of people who follow him on social media to produce a book. "I have been asked many times over the last two years whether I had a book. Amberley really liked my work and thought it would make a great book. I was over the moon."

Although Dave loves working outdoors, and focuses on the contrasts in colours and light from the changing seasons, he acknowledges that landscape photography has its challenges.

“The weather is always an issue. The winter sun is best, but comes hand in hand with the freeze. The only weather I avoid is rain,” he says.
