A WOMAN says she feels "violated" and is scared to go out after being the victim of two sexual assaults in short succession.

Police are now hunting a man after the incidents, which are reported to have happened within five minutes of each other in a Shipley supermarket.

The 20-year-old victim was shopping in Asda at about 2.30pm on Saturday when she was groped on the bottom.

Officers investigating the incident have released a CCTV image from the Manor Lane store of the suspect, who the victim believes was aged between 16 and 18.

The woman told the Telegraph & Argus that the man needed to be caught before he did something similar again.

She said that after the first time it happened, she saw a man and tried to pursue him. Five minutes later, she said, it happened again.

"He put his arm around me and grabbed me," said the woman.

"I went after him but he looked at me like he had done nothing wrong."

She said the man did not speak to her and left the store soon afterwards.

"I felt ashamed like I had done something," she said. "I felt disgusted. It's preying on my mind.

"If he can do this to someone in Asda on a busy Saturday, he needs catching before he does it to someone else like a young girl.

"I feel violated – he needs to be caught. I am now scared to go out."

She said she was shopping for items for a Mother's Day lunch.

She added: "I am 20 years old. I'd rather it be me than a young vulnerable girl."

Councillor Martin Love (Green, Shipley) said: "It is horrific that something like that would happen at such a busy time. It is horrific at any time, but it is amazing that it could happen at that time of the day in a busy store.

"I would urge anyone who recognises the man in the picture to get in touch with the police."

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image, or anyone who has any information on the incident, is asked to contact the investigating officer, PC Paul Marks, at Shipley police on the non-emergency 101 number, quoting crime reference 13160099340.

Alternatively, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555111.
