Wharfedale Triangle League First Division: Yeadon Athletic 0 Cullingworth Youth 0

A GALE-FORCE wind played its part as this first-versus-second clash ended in stalemate.

Leaders Youth have scored 60 goals in the league this season, yet for the second consecutive match they failed to score. However, under the conditions their performance could not be faulted.

Despite playing against the wind in the first half, Youth had the better of the play and created more scoring opportunities.

They continued to hold the upper hand with the wind at their backs in the second period but a host of great chances went begging.

Allan Feather, in all his 63 years as Youth manager, cannot remember his team playing when the wind was so strong.

Athletic had two good chances themselves but Youth’s keeper kept his goal intact.

Cullingworth's man of the match was Andy Wayper.

Youth are at home to Aire Valley in a local derby on Sunday.
