Kirklees Council has re-elected Birstall and Birkenshaw Councillor Robert Light as the leader of the Council - despite not being the largest party any longer.
He will head a nine-strong cabinet responsible for implementing the council's major policies and strategies. Councillorr Jim Dodds was elected deputy leader and will hold the portfolio for children's services.
Other cabinet members include local councillors Andrew Palfreeman - corporate services and governance, David Hall - finance and business services, Margaret Bates - health and adult services, Martyn Bolt - environment and transportation and Elizabeth Smaje - leisure and neighbourhood services.
It follows the Tories loss of one seat and Labour's two gains at the local elections earlier this month, making Labour the largest party. Labour now hold 22 seats, Conservatives 20 and Liberal Democrats are on 18.
