A DAD has praised rescuers who went to his aid after he crashed on a busy main road.
Mujeeb Rahman, of Keighley, was helped by several passers-by when his Toyota RAV4 lost control and flipped onto its side at Halifax Road, Cross Roads.
Two motorists stopped to check he was alright and directed traffic until police arrived.
And two engineers pulled up, helped him out of his wrecked vehicle and stayed with him in their van.
"Everybody was absolutely wonderful and I can't thank them enough," said father-of-three Mr Rahman, of Shann Avenue.
The analytical chemist was on his way home from a night shift in Huddersfield when the accident happened, at 6.45am last Thursday on the A629 near Sugden End tip.
"The car hit a log, turned on its side and ended up facing oncoming traffic," said Mr Rahman, 47, a member of Keighley Ahmadiyya Muslim Association.
"It all happened in a flash.
"The man and woman who stopped first controlled the traffic and helped ensure there wasn't another, bigger accident.
"I couldn't get out of my car myself so the engineers helped me and then sat me in their van with the heater turned on.
"These people were all complete strangers yet they were wonderfully kind and so helpful. I am extremely grateful."
He also paid tribute to the police and paramedics who attended.
"The paramedics checked me over and said I should go to hospital but apart from aches and pains I was OK," said Mr Rahman.
