A MAN has been charged with wounding with intent after a Bradford dad suffered serious head injuries in an alleged attack as he walked home from playing snooker.
Simon Hackett, 35, the father of an 11-year-old daughter, was detained in intensive care at Leeds General Infirmary after the incident, which took place at about 12.15am on Sunday, September 20, near to Buttershaw Lane Working Men's Club, in St Helena Road, Wibsey, Bradford.
Mr Hackett was on his way home after playing snooker at the club with a friend when the incident occurred. He was left unconscious in a critical condition.
His partner, Caroline Sykes, spent hours each day at his hospital bedside and said he had shown signs of recovery.
A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. He has now been charged and is due to appear before magistrates in the new year.
