CHILDREN at five primary schools in Bradford visited City Hall to show off their posters about a campaign to keep their neighbourhoods clean.
Pupils at Crystal Gardens, Newby, St Joseph's, Rainbow, and Bowling Schools met Councillor Joanne Dodds, the Lord Mayor of Bradford, to show her their entries in the 'Beautiful BD5' competition.
The contest saw children design posters to promote a reduction in the amount of litter dropped on the streets around their schools, and they all received certificates as a reward for their hard work.
The event was organised by staff at the West Bowling Community Action and Training Centre, including community development worker, Firdos Hussain.
"The two main aims were to make children more aware of the issues in their local environment, and give them a chance to come and see City Hall," she said.
"It was the first time they had been in the Council chambers, and they really enjoyed putting their questions to the Lord Mayor.
"They thoroughly enjoyed the day, and we hope to run the event again in spring or summer next year."
