HEALTH Trust staff attended a talk at Airedale Hospital aimed at increasing awareness of stroke and its impact.

The talk was given by Dr Nas Naqvi, consultant stroke physician with Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, to coincide with World Stroke Day.

"In order to beat stroke it is vital that we all work together to raise awareness of how to do this," he said.

"Our stroke team at Airedale Hospital is committed to providing the best care to the local community.

"Stroke is the number one cause of preventable disability worldwide – 15 million people experience a stroke each year and six million of them do not survive."

The talk took place in the hospital's stroke unit, ward 5.
