FUNDAISERS are looking forward to their next brew-up to help stop elderly people getting lonely.
Time for tea is to become a monthly celebration at Bradford's Lifeline Project thanks to a £2,500 grant from Sovereign Healthcare Trust to work with the elderly.
Workers from the project based in the city's Piccadilly area invited people from several care homes across the city to be guests at their first event.
Lifeline's Faz Hafiz said: "We plan to use the funds awarded to hold monthly tea parties to help tackle loneliness and isolation for the ageing population of Bradford. The events are also looking at carers and the support they may need supporting an elderly relative or friend. The next tea party is likely to be at the end of October."
The tea party idea sprung from an event earlier this year when the Lifeline Project hosted a successful Age UK chinwag.
Mr Hafiz said: "We all had a great time. The 1940s theme was fun. We're looking forward to the next one now."
