THE Box Tree restaurant in Ilkley has been praised by tourism body Welcome to Yorkshire for retaining its Michelin Star for culinary excellence.
Yesterday's release of the Michelin Guide reveals that Yorkshire has six Michelin Stars - more than any other county in the UK outside London.
The Prashad in Drighlington retained its Bib Gourmand, a mark of good cuisine at a reasonable price.
Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: "I am thrilled with the news that Yorkshire retains its crown for having more Michelin Star restaurants than anywhere outside London.
"The announcement of this year’s awards really cements Yorkshire’s reputation for first class food and fine dining."
The most recent Michelin Star went to The Man Behind the Curtain in Leeds.
