FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a boy who became stuck after climbing a tree in Baildon.
A crew from Shipley fire station was sent to Valley View in Baildon shortly before midday on Saturday after receiving a call that a distressed child had been spotted high up a tree.
When they arrived they found the boy, aged about seven, had climbed to a height of about 40ft but had not been able to get back down. He was rescued by firefighters using a ladder.
A few hours later, the crew was back in Valley View for a second time after a householder became accidentally locked out in the garden when a gust of wind blew a door shut.
The resident had been cooking and raised the alarm in fear the food could start a fire. Firefighters used a ladder to get into the house through an open upstairs window.
