THE RAIL shed at Oxenhope station provided the background to a TV politics programme.
Four of Keighley’s general election candidates were interviewed amidst the steam locomotives as part of Andrew Neil’s Sunday Politics show at the weekend.
The 20-minute segment explored the Keighley and Ilkley constituency’s importance as a key marginal in today’s elections.
A filmed report looked at issues likely to affect the vote, such as Keighley’s industrial past and the racial mix of the town’s population, then business people along North Street were asked for their political views.

Matt Stroh, chairman of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, was delighted the BBC had chosen Oxenhope station as a setting for the programme.
He said: “It was quite an interesting little piece. It was nice having the backdrop of the Railway Children weekend.”
Mr Stroh was pleased that former Keighley MP Ann Cryer was mentioned in the report, because she is currently the president of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
