AN ART gallery based in a caravan will be sweeping across Bradford this summer.

The Caravan Gallery is holding a project called Bradford Pride of Place, and as part of this, it will be hosting a photography contest with a difference.

People will be asked to take snaps of unsung attractions, or even less attractive qualities of the local area, that usually escape people’s notice – such as funny street signs, shop displays or unusual sights.

Jan Williams, of the Caravan Gallery, said: “We want to encourage the people of Bradford to view their city with fresh eyes, to astonish and surprise us with their observations from a local and personal perspective.

“Look beyond the obvious and show us what’s special, unusual or perhaps typical of everyday life in this part of the world.”

The Caravan Gallery will team up with Bradford galleries Fuse Art Space and the Impressions Gallery to select the most original images.

They will then be displayed at Fuse Art Space. To take part, e-mail images to admin@thecaravangallery.photography by Wednesday, May 27.
