STAFF at Benton Park, Rawdon, are celebrating a good Ofsted report after efforts to transform the school.
Co-head teachers Delia Martin and Stephen Dixon say they are now working towards making the school outstanding.
Two years ago the school was described as requiring improvement and the head teachers have welcomed the latest assessment.
They said: “As co-head teachers at Benton Park School we were pleased to welcome Ofsted inspectors to our school at the beginning of March. The inspection was a very positive experience for staff, students and inspectors alike and we were delighted to receive some incredibly positive comments about our students and all other facets of school life."
“We received praise from Ofsted that the plans we have implemented since September 2012 have been highly effective in bringing about the transformation of the school and that our current ambitious plans to improve further will lead to outstanding outcomes and experiences for all of our students and wider learning community in the near future.”
The inspectors described the students as exemplary and said they “demonstrated consistently high standards of behaviour in lessons and around the school.” They also highlighted how students “enjoyed learning in a harmonious community.”
