WORLD class champion of contemporary circus, Cirque Eloize, is in Bradford this spring with new show Cirkopolis.

Showcasing the multidisciplinary talents of its artists, Cirque Eloize combines circus arts with music, dance and theatre.

Cirkopolis creates a vibrant, imaginary world inspired by classic films, Metropolis and Brazil.

Cirque Eloize dive head first into this fantasy world where 12 performers rebel against monotony and blur lines between dream and reality, performing within an inventive stage design and accompanied by an original musical score and video projections.

Cirkopolis unfolds scene by scene, with jugglers braving the space, contortionists lifted high into the air and aerial artists defying the height of the skyscrapers.

Jeannot Painchaud, creative director of Cirque Eloize and co-director of Cirkopolis, said: “Cirkopolis was imagined as a crossroads between imagination and reality, individuality and community, limits and possibilities. The show is driven by the poetic impulse of life, the physical prowess of the circus and the humour, at once serious and lighthearted.”

Cirque Eloize runs at the Alhambra from March 18 to 21. For tickets call (01274) 432000 or visit bradford-theatres.co.uk.
