POLICE are appealing for information after a woman had liquid poured over her head during a robbery in a Bradford park.

The 39-year-old was walking through Horton Park, at 11am on Tuesday, when she was pushed to the ground by a man.

The victim struggled with the man and was doused in an alcohol-like liquid, before the suspect snatched her phone and ran off. He also stole cash.

The woman suffered cuts to her face and was badly shaken. She was taken to hospital for a check up.

Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Bradford District CID, said: "This was a particularly nasty incident in broad daylight in a public park and we are obviously very keen to find the person responsible."

He added: "The suspect is believed to have run off towards the Frank Street entrance of the park, so it is possible that someone will have seen this man as he ran away.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered a Blackberry mobile phone for sale since this incident occurred."

The suspect is described as white, possibly in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5ft 7ins tall and skinny. He had short brown hair and a pock-marked face. He was wearing a hooded black jacket with a motif on the left breast and dark blue tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bradford District CID on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
