POLICE are appealing for information after a man in a van offered to pick up an 11-year-old girl in Shipley.
The girl was walking along Leeds Road close to the junction with Cote Farm Lane, when a white van pulled up alongside her.
The passenger opened his door and asked the girl if she would like to get in the van. She refused and walked away and the van left.
The man was wearing a black balaclava and gloves, with a blue hooded top and black jogging bottoms. The driver was also believed to be wearing a black balaclava.
The van is thought to have been a Ford Transit-type vehicle, which drove off towards Thackley Corner following the incident at around 3pm on Monday.
Inspector Hugh Robinson, who leads the Shipley Area Neighbourhood Team, said: “The girl did the right thing by not getting involved.”
