ELECTRICITY firms have been granted entry warrants to enter 39 properties in Bradford to install payment meters, cut off supplies or investigate electricity theft.

Magistrates granted warrants allowing staff at British Gas, Npower and Scottish and Southern (SSE) access to homes and businesses. and Those involved in the action had all been told informed of a court hearing yesterday in Bradford, but none attended.

Npower intends to disconnect supplies at several businesses and install payment meters in homes, again ensuring the vulnerable are protected not disadvantaged, and had 20 warrants authorised.

British Gas has been given access to install payment metres in 18 homes but a spokesman told magistrates anyone found to be in vulnerable circumstances would be protected.
