A FESTIVAL to raise awareness about mental health issues that many students suffer from has been held in the University of Bradford.

Headival was organised by the Student Union to mark University Mental Health Day, and students were invited to take “head clearing” walks around quieter routes in the area, live music, art stalls, and even a bucking sheep.

There was also literature about where people with mental health issues can go handed out to students.

Katy Hargreaves, welfare advisor said: “We produced a short film about mental health that has been viewed by more than 2,000 people so far which is great.

“This day is important because a lot of people either discover they have mental health problems in university or develop them here.”

All money raised will be given to mental health charity Student Minds.
