PARENTS and pupils in Manningham enjoyed school together at a special weekend event.
Atlas Primary School, in Lincoln Close, organised a Family Super Saturday, to give parents and carers an chance to interact with their children in the school environment.
As well as fun activities, the day also aimed to teach the adults about important issues.
While children were enjoying some of the activities, including mosaic design, story time and a bouncy castle, adults were involved in a workshop to provide them with all the information they need to ensure their children steer clear of drugs.
Families also got to sit down and enjoy breakfast with staff at the school and enjoyed a traditional Pakistani breakfast delicacy, Chana Puri.
There was also a bow and arrow making workshop which was lots of fun said a school spokesman, who who added: "All the activities are about breaking down gender barriers and are things that can be taken away and tried at home.
"It brings families and the community together. Often the men in the families are working during the week and the women are at home so these Saturday sessions, which we've been doing for more than a year now, bring them all together with the children. When the males in the families show an interest in the children it increases their attainment and motivation we've found."
