KAISER Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson returns as a mentor on TV talent show The Voice for the new series starting next week.

The Keighley-born singer joins veteran star Sir Tom Jones, pop princess Rita Ora and American rapper will.i.am on the spinning red chairs.

The coaches headed to Salford for "blind auditions" last autumn ahead of the new series starting on BBC1 on Sunday, January 15.

This is Ricky's second year on The Voice, which sees four coaches selecting hopefuls on the strength of their voice. They only get to see the contestants if they choose to turn their chairs around to face them.

This series sees Rita Ora making her debut, replacing Kylie Minogue. Originally from Kosovo, Rita has had four UK Number 1 singles and she has a role in the highly anticipated Fifty Shades Of Grey movie, due for release next month.

Ricky said: "I enjoyed spending last winter with The Voice, it's definitely fun to be part of a show with a spinning chair. I hope Rita likes it too, I'm sure the audience will love her."

Sir Tom said: "I'm really looking forward to coming back for season four. Not only do I get to know and work with Rita, I can once again enjoy hearing and seeing the talent that comes from just about every corner of the UK."

Will.i.am added: “Season four of The Voice is going to be amazing! Tom Jones is our rock, Ricky is awesome and it’s our pleasure to welcome the very talented Rita Ora. Rita is sweet, spicy and sassy - she’s going to be a great addition to the coaches team.”

Emma Willis and Marvin Humes from JLS will join the coaches again as show hosts.

Executive producer Tim van Rongen, said: “The Voice is a global hit and we feel very privileged that the top artists in the world love to be a part of it. We are proud to welcome Rita Ora to The Voice UK family. Together with will.i.am, Tom Jones and Ricky we are sure to deliver another great series and continue to build on the show's success."

Menston band Kaiser Chiefs released their fifth album, Education, Education, Education and War last year - the first album featuring new drummer, Vijay Mistry. The band has announced a string of live shows for 2015, including a homecoming gig at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
